It's all good, no worries : )

As Credinus pointed out, it's really important that the devs give us some indication of whether or not this 'feature' which has been implied that it exists in both console versions for so long now, is going/planned to be implemented in a patch or update on the PS3.

I really want the game to do well and the potential for it is so great because there is nothing else out there like this for PS3 or 360. Hope to hear from the devs soon.

So with an Xbox360 you can go online same console with 2 local players? Once again screwed by buying this for the PS3 not to mention the in-game ebgames/gamestop imp... PS3 turning into nothing but a fancy blueray player these days if this **** is going on.

Here's an answer from a dev:

we promised that on both consoles playing on one console will be possible. And this works. However, we didn't manage to implement for the release of the PS3 version that the native multiplayer can be mixed with the online multiplayer. On the 360 it works because it is part of the xbox-system that 2 profiles can be connected to the internet at the same time. The PS3 doesn't allow this automatically, it has to be implemented by the develeoper.

We now know how to do this and we will be able to fix this in a simple patch. So I am sure this will be fixed soon...

I couldn't have said it any better.

There are several PS3 games that do online co-op on 1 console.

@Wombat - Yes there are, but not many of them (any?) let you sign into PSN on two different PSN accounts whilst playing online co-op.

It must have been considered out of scope for the deadline for this game's PS3 release ("we now know how to do this..."). Anyways, I'm just glad it will be patched and we will get the game we hoped for.

Question 2 players one console

Ok, I've only played the game for 30 mins or so but I can't seem to find a way to play through the campaign with 2 players on one console and both players actually be saved (Or play with two characters already set up). Currently it makes me create a new level 1 character for the second person every time. Is this possible?

You have to create another profile on your PS3 and use that profile for the second person joining your game. Then the character created for that profile should be able to be saved.

Why dont they tell people up front then about not being able to do such things at release with the PS3.. I would have bought this for the X360 had I known it.. Where the heck is the patch.
